Dream Big

Good Morning!

It's Sunday which means time to show you a project I made with the current kit at Artful Delight. Usually, I'm showcasing the main kit. This month, I'm mixing it up with the cart kit!

Have you seen it? So fun!

CLICK HERE to see what all is included and pick up one for yourself :)

I used this month's Artful Delight sketch to create a card:

Head over to the Artful Delight blog to see what the rest of the designers are making with the December kits and link up your own takes on the sketch!

Have a great day!

Cardabilities #28 :)

It's time for another great sketch reveal at Cardabilities!
How fun is this cutie by Karan?! I love this design :)

I used American Crafts "City Park" on this bright and colorful card. Pretty simple, butI think it'd be a wonderful card to send to someone who needs some lifting, cheering up :)

Be sure to visit Cardabilities and be inspired by all the beautiful projects from the design team :) So many wonderful and creative cards, we hope you'll join us and link up your creation, too!

This is my last design team project as member of the Cardabilities blog. :( A new fantastic team of lovely card-makers has been introduced and I wish them all the best. I've thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the team and thank the wonderful Karan and all the DT gals for the opportunity to create with them. It's been a complete pleasure :)

The Paper Variety Challenge & New Additions!

It's Week 5 at The Paper Variety and our challenge
is a super fun card sketch!
Even better is our fabulous sponsor, Lawn Fawn!

Here's the card sketch..
Lawn Fawn has donated Critters in the Sea to award our challenge winner!
Isn't this the cutest stamp set!?

I used American Crafts' Blue Skies papers and rub-ons to create this
sweet and colorful "friend" card.

Simple sketch, AWESOME prize! Hope to see you join the challenge!

~~~~New Additions~~~~
I recently bought a Cuttlebug!!
I've been wanting one forever and finally purchased one
from HSN a couple weeks ago. I've had soooo much fun experimenting
with the few folders I have and can't wait to shop for a few more.
I love this tool and will be using it on many cards in the future. :)
Also, another new addition.. this addition is to our family.
This is Cooper...
We saved him from our local Animal Shelter.
He's a basset hound / beagle mix and about 10 months old.
He is super lovable, house trained and super smart.
We brought him home a week ago and he's already learned a few tricks.
We are sooooo lucky to have found him, he's perfect for our family!
We were a little bit worried how our diva kitty, Logan, would react.
She's been our one and only pet for close to 4 years.
But as you can see here....
Logan and Cooper are getting along just fine!
They nap together everyday :)
I can't wait to create some furry friends layouts! :)
24hr Challenge, Jackpot & Great Buy
One of the monthly challenges in Scrappin-n-Chattin is a 24 hour layout challenge. A sketch and paper collection are chosen for each participant, and they have 24 hours to complete the sketch. Then a winner is chosen at random.
This challenge began Friday night and ended tonight. Here is the sketch that I had to follow..I was assigned the American Crafts "Heat Wave" collection to create with. And this is my take..
It's my son 10 years ago when he was just 11 months. Ohh the memories.
A winner was chosen earlier... Congrats Barb!!
Also in Scrappin-n-Chattin, we hold a monthly jackpot. Participants enter with a $5 fee that goes into the "pot", then a winner is randomly picked. The winner wins the value of the jackpot in scrapbooking goodies! I won for May and received my yummies recently.
I was thrilled to be gifted "DeLovely", "Fly a Kite" and some liquid pearls. I've already created a card with DeLovely, but it's for the Party Time Tuesdays DT. I'll share it here in a few days. :)
I also found a great deal at Walmart tonight. They had alot of their Martha Stewart supplies on clearance and I picked up these 3 stamp sets for just $6 each! Woot! I'm really excited and can't wait to get scrappin' with them.No plans for this holiday weekend. Just hangin out with my little guy. Tuesday is his last day of school and then the summer fun will start! :)
Hope you all have a great holiday!!
Happy Earth Day!
Wow.. it's been a couple weeks since I posted anything crafty in here. I hadn't realized it had been that long. Life zooms, doesn't it?
Happy Earth Day!! Is anyone celebrating? Do you recycle? Do you buy organic foods? Do you use Earth friendly products? I admit, I'm not as green as I want to be, but I do try my best.
I created some cards and a layout to share...
Happy Earth Day! This was made with the Daisy Bucket "A Wonderful World" line. A beautiful collection of greens, brown, blue and yellow.
I tried masking on a card for the first time. Just a simple birthday card using 2 Martha Stewart butterfly punches and some Tim Holtz "worn lipstick" distress ink.
I used the K&Company's "Actopus to Zelephant" collection on this belated card.
And lastly, a layout of my son and our kitty, Logan. I used the American Craft's "Blue Skies" collection, I just love all the colors in this line!
Card 29
Just got back from the cinema- my son and I saw Dreamworks' "How to train your dragon". GREAT movie! I loved it!! And of course, Braydon did also. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the 3-D version, our theater is too small town, so we're looking forward to the DVD release. The special effects were awesome in 2-D, can't wait to see them in 3D!
Today's card was made with an American Crafts bunny sheet I've been holding onto for a while. I'm happy to finally use it. I don't normally send out cards at Easter time, but I was feeling in the mood to create one since lately all I see is Easter pretties everywhere. I'll be sending this one to someone special.
Cards 23 & 24
Only one week left till the end of this challenge! I'm really surprised I've made it this far. I've always been more of a layout scrapper- cards, not so much. But I'm having fun and I've got a bunch of cards to be proud of. This month, I've learned that I really enjoy making cards so maybe in the future I'll make alot more.
For #23, I used the K&Company Blossomwood mat pad designed by Tim Coffey. I used 2 sheets of identical paper, cut a few blossoms out of one sheet and used pop dots to adhere them to the 2nd sheet that I added to the card. It gives a really nice dimension.
For #24, I used a sheet of American Crafts Sixth Avenue that I've had in my stash for a few years. I love the color combination and it feels good to use PP that I've had for awhile rather than new stuff most of the time. I have soooo much patterned paper that I've held onto for years, I really need to start using more of it. I bought it for a reason, right? :)
Hope you all have a great Thursday!
