Party Time Tuesday & Winner!

It's Tuesday again! That means a new challenge at Party Time Tuesdays! Yay! Kristie is going easy on us for Week 5, the challenge is "Anything Goes". Just create any type of birthday card and share it with us! We'd love to see your creativity! Don't forget to add a birthday greeting (Happy Birthday, Make a wish, Celebrate, How old? etc) to the front of your card :)

I was at Walmart last week and they had lots of scrapbooking items on clearance. Woot! I bought a package of 24 of these cute little 3D glittered party hats for just $2! Sweet deal :) And how perfect for a fun birthday card!?

Card Supplies: K & Company party hat stickers, Autumn Leaves border
clear stamp, Martha Stewart border punch, Colorbox "Blackbird"

I love how you've changed your blog. Your photo is great. I love the layout you completed for the 24 Hour Challenge. Your work is always amazing.

Thanks Sue and Congrats! You'll find so many uses for these cuties!

Also, by midnight tonight, all secret letters will have been posted. There might even be a letter in this post! :) Unscramble all the secret letters you've found throughout the month and form the special word. Email the "word" to me at (oceans972 at yahoo dot com). I'll allow 2 full days to collect your entries. On Thursday night (7/1), I'll randomly draw a name from all correct entries. The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to The Scrapbooking Cottage! Super cool!!

I hope you'll check back later today! I'll be posting my Day29 layout and also hosting one more giveaway!

I also wanted to thank you all for the compliments given about my blog's new appearance. I've been wanting to do something different with it for awhile and when I saw this template/design, I thought "Yep! That's mine now" lol. Thanks so much! :)

Happy June!

A few things

I was fortunate to be chosen as a guest designer for Creative Scrapper's blog birthday bash. I was given a sketch to follow and my completed layout was featured on their blog today along with several other beautiful layouts. Here's the sketch, love it:
Here's my take. I used the My Mind's Eye Little Boy Blue" collection.
I also made a few cards recently.
This card was entered in Scrappin-n-Chattin's trifold card challenge.TFL!

Happy Earth Day!

Wow.. it's been a couple weeks since I posted anything crafty in here. I hadn't realized it had been that long. Life zooms, doesn't it?

Happy Earth Day!! Is anyone celebrating? Do you recycle? Do you buy organic foods? Do you use Earth friendly products? I admit, I'm not as green as I want to be, but I do try my best.
I created some cards and a layout to share...

Happy Earth Day! This was made with the Daisy Bucket "A Wonderful World" line. A beautiful collection of greens, brown, blue and yellow.
I tried masking on a card for the first time. Just a simple birthday card using 2 Martha Stewart butterfly punches and some Tim Holtz "worn lipstick" distress ink.
I used the K&Company's "Actopus to Zelephant" collection on this belated card.

And lastly, a layout of my son and our kitty, Logan. I used the American Craft's "Blue Skies" collection, I just love all the colors in this line!

Cards 23 & 24

Only one week left till the end of this challenge! I'm really surprised I've made it this far. I've always been more of a layout scrapper- cards, not so much. But I'm having fun and I've got a bunch of cards to be proud of. This month, I've learned that I really enjoy making cards so maybe in the future I'll make alot more.

For #23, I used the K&Company Blossomwood mat pad designed by Tim Coffey. I used 2 sheets of identical paper, cut a few blossoms out of one sheet and used pop dots to adhere them to the 2nd sheet that I added to the card. It gives a really nice dimension.
For #24, I used a sheet of American Crafts Sixth Avenue that I've had in my stash for a few years. I love the color combination and it feels good to use PP that I've had for awhile rather than new stuff most of the time. I have soooo much patterned paper that I've held onto for years, I really need to start using more of it. I bought it for a reason, right? :)
Hope you all have a great Thursday!

Card 12

I found a beautiful card on scrapbook.com and loved the design! I thought the little epoxy rounds looked like lil bubbles so that was my inspiration for today's card.

I used K&Company's "Actopus to Zelephant" papers and 3 dimensional felt sticker. I love how cute and colorful it turned out! TFL!See yas tomorrow!

Long Time No Blog!

Wow! I didn't realize it had been so long since I blogged! Well let me try and catch up. I haven't subbed in a week or so. I hope they call on me these last few weeks of the school year- Braydon's birthday is June 9th and I'm gonna need a paycheck for some presents!

Today was Mother's Day and I had a lovely weekend with my little guy. My gift was an aquarium! Woot! I love fishies! Haven't bought any yet, but the aquarium was set up this afternoon. It's so calming! Can't wait to get some fishies in there tomorrow! I've done alot of scrapbooking the past week or so and I'll share those layouts here. I also created a Mother's Day waterfall card for my sister, Jessica, who is a new mother.
