Cards with Artful Delight & TPV tutorial :)

I've had a lot of fun this month creating with the Artful Delight February card kit!

It includes brand new LYB "Paradise" plus Simple Stories, Jillibean Soup and Paper Smooches stamps.. all my faves so it's easy to say I LOVE this kit!

Last week I shared a layout using these goodies, today I'm sharing 2 cards :)

I'm so in love with those scooters.. how cute!! I've noticed I've been adding banners a lot lately for card sentiments.. I just love that banner look.. it really adds a special touch rather than just a circle, square or stamping right on the card.

Today is also my scheduled day to provide a tutorial for The Paper Variety. Visit TPV today to learn how to make your own embossing folder. I made this super simple note card in my tutorial.. it's very plain, but I wanted it that way so the focus is mainly on the embossing :)

Have a great Sunday!

love/congrats - Artful Delight

I've been ill, but I took meds daily and worked all week in a pre-k class. My evenings have been spent mostly in bed sleeping. I wasn't feeling at all crafty this past week - but I managed to put together two more cards using the Artful Delight January card kit.. Yay! :)

There was a lot of fussy cutting involved with these cards and I've become really fond of pairing red with kraft- love that combo! Everything used for both cards is included in the kit, except for the Paper Smooches "congratulations" stamp and white cardstock.

There are still cards kits available! See here to purchase yours! :)

Have a great Sunday!! :)

happy birthday - Artful Delight

Today I'm sharing a card I created using the January Artful Delight card kit. I think there may be a kit or two still available, click here to pick up one of these gorgeous collections for yourself! :)

I tried something different with my card, I wanted to use mostly cardstock instead of patterned paper.. although I did fussy cut that small heart from the Jillibean Soup Hearty Barley paper.

I used my Cuttlebug and embossed the cardbase for something new-to-me and I love the Basic Grey/Hero Arts stamps set included in the kit!

Tomorrow, the 23rd, is the last day to enter your project at Artful Delight based on this sketch...

We're loving all the entries so far but it would be great to see more!! And if you're the randomly chosen winner, you receive the Artful Delight February scrapbook kit! I was given a sneak peek at the February kit and it's AWESOME! Trust me, you'll really want this kit!! So find some time and get your layout entered! :)

Have a great Sunday!

I've made 2 layouts and 3 cards so far and I still have enough goodies to create several more projects.. love it :) Last I heard, Leeanne had just one kit left, so hurry to order yours! :)
Today I'm sharing a fun owl party card. I admit the design isn't my own.. I got the idea from a sweet card made by Lucy Abrams, I love her blog! Alot of fussy cutting here, but it was worth it. Gotta love these Jillibean Soup party owls, aren't they cute!? :)

Thanks for visiting! Be sure to join my giveaway here! :)

Birthday Card [Artful Delight]

If you're here for the TPV Blog Hop, see my post below this one - thanks! :)

Today I'm sharing a card I made using Artful Delight's beautiful March kit! It's made up of new collections, LYB "Twig" and JBSoup "Spotted Owl Soup". I've been having so much fun playing and planning with this kit - it's filled with so many cute and fun pieces - enough to make several layouts, cards and projects! The number of kits available are limited though, so don't delay - visit Artful Delight and purchase your kit today! :)

I made this birthday card using the "Spotted Owl" portion of the kit.. how cute are these lil owls with their fun party hats!?!? Uber!

I printed the sweet sentiment on my pc, and the rest came together so easily. I love this kit!

Be sure to visit the Artful Delight blog as DT projects using the kit will be featured throughout the month :) My very good friend, April, shared a GORGEOUS layout yesterday, you just gotta check it out :)

Thanks for letting me share with you!

Card Patterns Guest Designer- Woot! :)

Yay me! Last week, I was so thrilled to see the card I made
following the sketch at Card Patterns was chosen in their
Super Six! And I was honored they chose me as
Guest Designer for this week! Oh happy day! :)

The sketch is really simple, you can do so much with it.
I love it!

Here is my take on it. I used Jillibean Soup "Chestnut Soup"
snowflake kraft paper, then a mix of a bunch of other embellies.
I really like how it turned out. Rich and warm.

There's still time to enter this challenge :)
And there's a sahhh-weeet prize offered, too!
I had alot of fun with the sketch, you will, too :)

It's Party Time!

Woot! It's Party Time Tuesday! This week's challenge is to create a summer themed birthday card :) We hope you'll join us by creating one and be sure to include a birthday greeting on the front. Then share it with us on PTT!

Colleen is our guest designer this week and she created the sweetest easel card! Love it! And as always, the design team made some fantastic summer cards! Check em out! :)

This week, I used Jillibean Soup's Summer Squash to create this "Celebrate" card. Aren't these paper lanterns so cute!? I cut them out of the patterned paper then used pop dots on a few of them to create dimension.

Card Supplies: Jillibean Soup "Summer Squash", Stampabilities red rubber stamp, cardstock, ribbon.

I'd love to see you join the party! :)

On the farm

Did anyone watch "Hot in Cleveland" last night?
It's a new show on TVLand starring Betty White,
Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.
Wednesday was their first episode. I watched it and it
was hilarious! I loved it.. so funny! Perfect show for a
single gal trying to reinvent herself, like me. :)

This layout features my son at age six, during one of
our trips to Wisconsin to visit family. My Aunt and
Uncle operate a dairy farm and it's always been fun for
all of us to tour the farm.

Layout Supplies: Doodlebug Design "Barnyard" papers
and cute cuts, Jillibean Soup "Chicken Noodle" paper,
Pink Paislee "Cupid" paper, Jenni Bowlin tiny alphas,
brown and white cardstock, white gel pen.

Be sure to visit tomorrow! I'll be announcing a winner
for the "Sunshine" Glimmer Mist and I'll also
offer another giveaway!! Woohoo!

Happy June! See you soon!

Card 31 - I did it!

Woot woot! The last day of the Everyday Card Challenge and I crossed the finish line! Don't know who won yet, but I don't care.. it feels so good to have accomplished the goal and have so many cards to send out. I gotta remember to do that more often lol. I think the next month long daily challenge in Scrappin-n-Chattin will be for layouts and take place sometime this summer. I'm in!

Todays card was made with Jillibean Soup's "Chicken Noodle" collection. I love that sweet patterned paper! And the 3-d daisy sticker is from Jolee's. I think they went well together. This card design also qualifies for another one of the card challenges in Scrappin-n-Chattin, so I was glad to get that challenge accomplished, too.

Now that the everyday card challenge is over, I most likely won't be posting in my blog daily. However, I plan to make several layouts in April (I am soooooooo far behind in layouts!!) so hopefully I'll be sharing them in here a few times a week. And I'll probably throw in a few cards here and there, too.

Thanks everyone for any and all comments you left on my cards this month.. I really appreciate the kindness.

Have a fabulous week!

Card 18

I have #18 finished early today! What will I do with the rest of the day? lol I really should make a layout or two, I'm so behind in my albums. Anyway, I used Jillibean Soup "Minestrone" papers. I really love the designs and colors. This card also qualifies for the 'shaped card' challenge on Scrappin-n-Chattin. TFL!

Minestrone

Wow.. I hadn't realized it had been so long since I posted. Anyway, tonight I created 2 cards for the November Scrappin Challenge at Scrappin-n-Chattin. I totally lifted the design from kwernerdesign.com. She makes the cutest cards - I just love her style! The papers I used are Jillibean Soup's "Minestrone" - a really cute collection.

Layouts

Just sharing some new layouts I've done recently...

This is my son, Braydon, Halloween 2006.

Braydon at the Logan County Fair, Summer 2006. This was made to follow Julie's sketch at 52sketches52weeks.

This double pager was entered in the Monthly Layout Contest on Scrappin-n-Chattin.. and I won! :) It's Braydon at his favorite local restaurant.

Another layout for 52 sketches. This is me in early 2008.

Braydon at a park in Decatur, IL. Love this froggy patterned paper!

This layout was made for the Sketch Challenge at Scrappin-n-Chattin. You can't see very well in the photo- but Braydon is holding a butterfly he raised from a larva, last year Summer 2008.

Braydon at a park in Lincoln. I love the Basic Grey "Mellow" collection!
