TPV Challenge and Blog Hop winner! :)

Hi friends!

Today there is a new challenge at The Paper Variety and it's a real simple one so I hope to see everyone join! :)

The challenge is to use stickers! Flat stickers, chipboard stickers, cardstock stickers.. whatever type of stickers you have!

Our sponsor this week is SRM Stickers and they're offering a great prize package to the randomly chosen winner :) SRM Stickers sooooo kindly provided the entire TPV DT with stickers for our projects. Yay! Here are some cards that I made using SRM Stickers...

Also! Thanks to those of you who celebrated with us last week at TPV for our Blogaversary Celebration! We had so much fun and we're looking forward to many more great years at The Paper Variety :) And thanks for all your comments left during the blog hop, sharing your favorite online scrappy stores! I found so many great new places to shop! Woohoo! :)

The winner of my blog candy is...
How cool is that? That rarely happens lol
Congrats Jessica!
Please mail me at oceans972 at yahoo dot com with your address and I'll get this in the mail to you before the end of the week :)

Hope to see everyone's sticker projects at TPV!
Thanks for stopping by :)

guess hoo loves you

This week I had high hopes of making alot of crafts, but it just didn't turn out that way. I just couldn't find any mojo. But then I decided to tackle the sketch at Sketch Inspiration and I was happily surprised how well it all came together. Sometimes, you just need a really good sketch to get you goin! :)

I also incorporated a couple other challenges into my layout. Frosted Designs challenge to use a quote. Fantabulous Cricut challenge to use an outdoor theme. And ScrapFit challenge to include a bird and a quote. :)

This is my nephew, Drake at our state park last Fall. I love this picture of him with his chubby cheeks and big ears lol :) I used Cosmo Cricket's Mr Campy and also was so happy to finally use my Cricut Lite Hoot 'n' Holler cart I bought a few weeks ago. LOVE that cart!! Alot of hand stitching on this layout, all the leaves and some on the striped paper.

I'm headed out in a few minutes to pick up my son from his week at diabetes camp. I'm sooo happy he's coming home today! I've missed him so much and can't wait to hear all about his fun week. Hopefully he took lots of pictures for me!! lol :)

Thanks for visiting!

Party Time Tuesdays #27!

This week at Party Time Tuesdays the challenge is
Anything Goes! I love Anything Goes challenges because
the birthday card you create is up to you! As long as you
have a birthday greeting on the front, all of the
rest is your imagination :)

I've not been feeling well lately so my card was
made rather quickly without any bells and whistles..
just super simple.
But all the same, I'm happy with it :)
I used Cosmo Cricket "Circa 1934" and the
quote (one of my faves) is from a Fiskars birthday
sentiment stamp set.

Hope you'll join the party at PTT!

Thanks for visiting!

Tic-tac-toe Challenge at The Paper Variety!

This week at The Paper Variety, the challenge is a
tic-tac-toe board! Choose 3 down, across or diagonally!

I chose to tic-tac-toe in the first column -
layout, black/white/red and mixed alphas.
I also used Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1934, beautiful collection!
This is my nephew, Drake. A gorgeous little boy whom I love dearly,
but ohhhh soooo much trouble! lol

Entries are due by Tuesday noon. Just look at what you could
win from our sponsor, Tidbitz In Time!

Awesome, eh? We hope you'll join us!

Cardabilities #16

Time for another fabulous sketch at Cardabilities!
Check out this beautiful sketch! I don't create very
many scene projects so I was really happy to see
this sketch as our inspiration this week.
A true challenge for me :)
I decided to go with a get well card as I don't
have very many of those. I wanted to make it
Spring-like and colorful to cheer a special friend.
Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness was a perfect
collection to use.

We hope you'll visit Cardabilities and view all
the gorgeous DT examples. You're sure to be
inspired to join us!

Thanks for looking,
Abby :)

Challenge 9 at The Paper Variety!

Today begins another challenge week at The Paper Variety!
This week we have a recipe challenge...

I decided to go with a project rather than a layout or card.
I found this awesome tutorial by Helen at Scrap A Little on
how to make a paper bowl. It's so cute and soo easy to make.
Love it! Thanks Helen! :)

I combined Cosmo Cricket's Happy Camper and Nutmeg - love
when I can combine patterns from different collections!
It was really easy with these collections as the colors are
so similar. I used 2 leaves as my flowers and coated them in
Sunshine Glimmer Mist to give them some shine and crisp. :)

This week, The Paper Variety is honored to have a returning
sponsor, Stacy from The Scrapbooking Cottage!!
Stacy has donated this FABULOUS new holiday release by
Bo Bunny, Midnight Frost!! What a gorgeous collection!

The Paper Variety design team wowed us yet again with
some great inspiration to get you started. We hope you'll join us!

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge

I'm a last minute entry in the Cuttlebug Spot challenge. Had to give it a try since the random winner receives a $50 gift certificate. I made this card in 15 minutes, a first for me!! lol But I still like it!

I used Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg, I love that collection!

Thanks for looking! :)

Cardabilities #14

It's sketch reveal day at Cardabilities!
Karan created a beautiful sketch and there
are so many gorgeous DT examples!
You really should check them out
and try it for yourself! You could win a $35.00
prize package from Scrap Shotz! :)

I made this sweet Halloween card for my little nephew.
Last year, he was too young to enjoy Halloween..
but this year I think he's going to love it!
I used Cosmo Cricket's "Matilda", rotated the sketch
and moved my strips over to the side.
Those little ghosts are just too adorable!

Several nursing homes in our town are hosting Halloween
events and they invite all the little kids, so my sister
and I will be taking our boys to a few of those parties today.
I'm sure we'll all enjoy that! Then tomorrow is the big day!
I love Halloween just as much as the kids do,
it's going to be a super fun weekend!

Have a safe and happy Halloween, everyone! :)

Don't you just love Tuesdays?

It's that time of the week again! A new challenge is up at Party Time Tuesdays and the theme is brads! The design team and special guest Suzy have created some great cards using brads in several different ways. Will you join us? Create a birthday card, add some brads, add a birthday greeting on the front and share it with us! We'd love to see your ideas!

I used the Cosmo Cricket "Nutmeg" collection and used brads as the centers of my tree flowers :)

Thanks for allowing me to share with you!

Card Catch-up

This past week Suzanne and I have been so busy with setting up our new challenge blog, The Paper Variety, I've really been a slacker about posting my daily cards. But I have been getting them done and there's just 2 more days left till the Scrappin-n-Chattin 30day card challenge is over! I'm really surprised I've been able to stick with it considering how packed this month has been!

Here are cards I've made this week..

The Paper Variety launches with our very first challenge on Sept 15th! Woohoo! I'm soooooooooo excited! And Paper Poppy Kit Co. will be sponsoring us that week! How cool is that!?! You just gotta check us out, PPKC has such gorgeous kits!!

In the meantime, starting Sept 1st, we're announcing TPV's new Design Team! I am beyond thrilled that September will be here in a few days and we'll be officially starting TPV soon, it's gonna be great! And I hope all of you who enjoy challenge blogs with prizes will join us there!

Hi! Another multiple card post here, I just havent been able to keep up with my posting lately.

Saturday I created this card rather quickly, didn't have alot of scrappy time available, but regardless, I think it turned out super cute.

On Sunday I made this fun card for my nephew, Drake. I used Cosmo Cricket "Jolly by Golly", love that little birdie :)

Monday was a day for WRMK's "Merry January" again. This snowman is so sweet!

Thanks to everyone who helped me spread the word about The Paper Variety's design team call. We've received so many applications, I get all happy every time we get a new one! Just one more week until we announce the new team! It's so exciting- I can't wait! I hope you all will join us at The Paper Variety on the 1st to meet the new team, and also on the 15th when the first challenge is revealed! :)

Tonight I used Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly again - I just love this collection and plan to use it all up till it's gone! :) I added a bit of Imaginisce Cottage Christmas, too. "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" is one of my top 5 holiday song faves. I'm so glad I found that stamp in a Recollections clear stamp set at Michael's.

Cards 6, 7 & 8

I skipped blogging this weekend, I've got a horrible sore throat and just wasn't groovin' with the online thing. But! I still made my cards every day! :)

Fridays card was made with Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly.

Saturdays card was made with Crate Paper's North Pole. That was the day I started feeling ill and didn't really put my heart into card-making. Just made something up quickly. I still like it though :)

Todays card was made with my new Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather. I'm thinking I should've inked or distressed the sentiment paper, maybe I'll do that later. Or maybe I won't :)

Just a FYI - Scrappin-n-Chattin will be hosting a blog hop this Thursday through Sunday, and it starts on my blog! Be sure to come back, you could win new Cosmo Cricket collections plus soooo much more!! You don't wanna miss it, trust me! :)

Cards 4 & 5

Sorry I skipped yesterday's post- I was feeling a bit under the weather. But, I did create a card! :)

Thursday's card was made with Basic Grey's "Kioshi" I tried to create a winter wonderland effect by using the soft blue, purple, green and yellow. I love when people use non-holiday paper collections to make holiday cards. I also clear embossed some snowflakes. :)

Today's card was made with Cosmo Cricket "Jolly by Golly". I love these papers and they're so fun to work with. I'm not liking the brown ink, I feel maybe I should've used black- but that's okay, I'm still very pleased with it :)

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! See you tomorrow! :)

1st Holiday EDCC card & TSC Giveaway!!

Today kicked off the month long card challenge on Scrappin-n-Chattin! I should have prepared better by getting out and organizing my holiday scrappy supplies, but I didn't. If you know me well, that's no surprise. lol I sat and looked at big box of holiday stuff, was just overwhelmed and had no clue where to start. So I decided on something very simple. I'll organize in the morning :)

I used Cosmo Cricket's Jolly By Golly from last year. I still have a bunch of it left so I'm sure I'll be using it often this month.

GIVEAWAY!

Speaking of Cosmo Cricket holiday collections- have you seen the new releases?? They're gorgeous! Stacy from The Scrapbooking Cottage is giving away your choice of Cosmo Cricket!! Visit her blog for details- and HURRY!! The giveaway ends tomorrow!!!

Love

I tried something different today. A busy background
with a simple photo and few embellishments. Not quite
sure I like how it turned out. After I put down all those
squares, I thought to myself, "What was I thinking?" lol.
But, I continued on and now have another page done,
so I can't complain about that. :)

This is my sister and my nephew, Drake. Just look
at those ears on that baby! Haha so cute!

Layout Supplies: Cosmo Cricket "Nutmeg" papers,
journal spot and cardstock stickers, kraft cardstock.

Happy June!

Quick Notecards & Giveaway!

My son and I had a nice evening last night. We had
dinner out and then went to the cinema and saw "Shrek
Forever After". It was a really cute movie. The "Shrek"
movies are favorites of ours, we were bummed to learn
DreamWorks won't be making any more of them. But
we'll get over it lol. Now we're excitedly waiting for
Toy Story 3!

When we came home, I put together these notecards
rather quickly, finished them in just about 2o minutes.
I'm loving this "DeLovely" line! I've never really been a
fan of the super bright colors but the color combo and
patterns are just too cute to pass up!

I also added these uber cute "Fuzzy Friends" felties
from Sassafras Lass. They're so adorable! The package
also includes a gator, monkey and hippo. Don't you love
em? I'll be using those cuties too!
You can win a package of Fuzzy Friends of your own
just by leaving a comment on this post. Tuesday
morning (6/8) I'll randomly draw and announce
a winner.

Thanks so much to all who left a comment on the
DeLovely giveaway about your favorite summer
pasttime. My favorite thing to do in the summer is
enjoy our parks. My son loves them and I love all
the great photo opportunities! But I gotta admit, I
love sitting in the A/C and scrapping too! :)

The winner of the DeLovely Mini-Deck...Vicki said...

My favorite summer fun is taking the grandkids on nature walks.

Congrats Vicki!! Vicki is a member of my
group, Scrappin-n-Chattin, so it shouldn't be
too difficult to find her lol.

I'll be back later today to share my day4 layout :)

Happy June!

Want some yum?

Todays layout features my nephew, Drake. Isn't he
the cutest? But don't let the cuteness fool you, he's quite
a handful! Who isn't at age 1 though, really?
Ahhh.. I love him to pieces!

I used Garden Variety... love all those colors and
cute veggies! And I managed to use all patterned paper
from my mini-deck. I'm a paper hoarder lol so when I can
save my 12x12 sheets from being cut up,
it' a good thing. :)

Layout Supplies: Cosmo Cricket "Garden Variety" Mini-Deck, "Garden
Variety" cardstock stickers, Thickers, Sassafras Lass monster felties,
Gelly Roll white pen, green and kraft cardstock, PopDots

I have a few surprises this weekend! A giveaway
tomorrow and also a challenge on Sunday where you
could win items from a gorgeous new spring collection!
Hope you'll join me!

Also, I'll be picking a winner for the DeLovely Mini-Deck
Friday morning. If you'd like to be in the drawing,
please comment on this post.

Did you all find the first secret letter yesterday?

Happy June! See you soon!

June 1, 2010

Surprise! A month long celebration!

I LOVE JUNE!
So much so that I want to celebrate it for several reasons.
It's the beginning of my long vacation! (I'm a substitute
for our school district and today is the last day of the school
year!) It's the month of my son's birthday! (My one and
only baby who will be 11 on the 9th- Ugh! Where does the
time go??) It's the beginning of summer! (Who doesn't
love that?) And my favorite/lucky number has
always been six!
:)

So I've decided to have a party on my
blog and you're all invited! Woohoo!

All month long, I'll be sharing daily layouts and some cards..
a few tutorials here and there.
And best of all.. every few days I'll have giveaways!!
Over $100 worth of goodies can be won
throughout the month.
Ooooooo I'm so excited!

Also, every 4-5 days, I'll post one letter of a special secret
word. On June 29th, if you put all the letters together to
correctly form the secret word, you'll be in a drawing for
a $25 gift certificate to The Scrapbooking Cottage!
How cool is that!!? I'm going to hide each letter on a photo
or in the comments, so you'll have to look for it. Haha!
But won't it be fun? :)

I'll even host a couple challenges!
You can win items from two new spring and
summer collections! Oh this just keeps getting
better and better! Woohoo!

Okay okay.. calm down Abby and get on with your post.

Today, Party Time Tuesdays is hosting it's very first
card challenge! Awesome! The founder, my friend Kristie,
is starting us off easy by keepin it simple. The challenge is
"Anything goes". Create a birthday card however you wish
and share it with us on the PTT blog!I hope you'll join us!

My card for PTT's first challenge was created with Cosmo
Cricket's "DeLovely" Mini-Deck that I won in a Jackpot
drawing on Scrappin-n-Chattin. I also hand-stitched the
stitches... man, I really need to get a sewing machine..
that was a long task by hand! But I LOVE the result!

Card Supplies: Cosmo Cricket "DeLovely", Thickers (foam),
Daisy Bucket Designs "Label" clear stamp, Colorbox Chalk Ink,
Inkadinkado "Sentiments"clear stamp, Basic Grey buttons,
white cardstock, floss

Aren't the papers beautiful? So bright and cheerful!
Would you like to have some DeLovely of your own?
Yes, today begins with the first of TEN giveaways I'll be
hosting this month! Woot!!Just leave me one comment on this post and tell me what
is your favorite thing to do in the summer! That's all it takes,
easy peasy! Friday morning, I'll randomly pick a winner
for a Cosmo Cricket "DeLovely" 6x6 Mini-Deck.

(For all the giveaways/prizes awarded this month,
winners will have just 48 hours to claim theirs.
So please, don't forget to check back to see if you've won.)

I'm really excited about my blog celebration,
I hope you are too and
will visit me often throughout the month!

I'll be back later on today with my first of 30 daily layouts!

Happy June! See you soon!

Card 6

I love Cosmo Cricket's "Material Girl" collection. I'm a big fan of color and this line is full of it. TFL!
