Halloween Card Challenges :)

I was feelin kinda Halloweenie today so I decided to join a couple Halloween challenges :)

CAS-ual Fridays wants to see Halloween projects with absolutely no orange...

I used EP Dots & Stripes paper, the web/spider stamps are from WRMK "Spookville" and the sentiment is StudioG. I've always loved purple and green together :)

Also I created this colorful, too cute to spook card...

I used my Live Simply Cricut cart for the frame, DCWV Ghosts & Goblins patterned paper, La Petites felt 3D stickers and Paper Smooches "Sentiment Sampler" stamps :)
I'm entering this card into three challenges! wow.. that's the most I've ever done with one project, I think lol
My Craft Spot wants projects of black with orange, green or purple.
Paper Cutz wants Halloween projects using stars, circles or diamonds.
And Cricut 360* has a fun blog hop going on right now.. but you have to join the fun to know what the challenge is, it reveals itself as you hop :) Cool idea!

Thanks for letting me share :)

Cardabilities #25

It's reveal day at Cardabilities and Karan has created
another beautiful card sketch! Isn't it lovely!?

I used DCWV "Linen Closet", I love the soft blues,
greens and tan.

For this reveal, we have a wonderful sponsor that also supplied
the DT with sweet digi-images and sentiments to use.

Whimsie Doodles is offering a gift certificate to their
online store to one lucky scrapper who completes
todays sketch! Awesome!

Head on over to Cardabilities to see all the fabulous
DT inspiration! They're sure to help get you started with
so many ideas for this sketch.

Party Time!

It's time for another Party Time Tuesday challenge! This week's challenge is "Anything Goes" and I hope you'll join us in celebrating by creating a birthday card and share it with us at PTT! Just be sure to add your birthday greeting on the front :)

This week, I used my DCWV Linen Closet matstack. I love the soft hues of brown, blue and green. It's my favorite of all the DCWV stacks.

Hope you'll join the party! :)

On a side note.. I'm really excited about this coming weekend! Starting Sunday, Scrappin-n-Chattin will begin a Christmas Everyday Card Challenge for the entire month of August! How cool is that!? We're creating and sharing a new Christmas card daily for 30 days! There's even a $50 prize for a randomly drawn winner- Ooooo I love scrappy prizes! I can't wait to get started! I'm so glad I'll have all my cards made before September and won't have to worry about them during the busy season.

I have a few scrappy holiday collections to create with, but I'm so excited about the new holiday lines from Cosmo Cricket and Crate Paper! Have you seen them yet? omg I am drooling and can't wait to get em in my hands!

Here is Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather..And Crate Paper's Snow Day..

Aren't they gorgeous!? I just love how colorful and fun they are. Hopefully I'll be able to buy and have them arrive early enough to make lots of cards with them for the EDCC.

See you later! :)

It's Party Time!

Hey friends! Happy Tuesday! I've been MIA for a couple weeks.. but I'm back, ready to scrap and excited to bring you this week's Party Time Tuesdays challenge!

Have you ever made a pocket card? I hadn't before this week, I was surprised at just how fun and easy it was to make. :) I hope you'll join the party at PTT by creating a birthday pocket card and share it with us! Be sure to include a birthday sentiment on the front. The DT has made some beautiful cards, as always, be sure to check em out!

For my card, I used papers from my DCWV Rustic Stack. Love this collection! You'll notice two of the flower petals can be pulled out of a hidden pocket to reveal a sweet message.

I've been so busy the past couple weeks, it feels great to scrap again! I have plans for a few layouts in the coming weeks.. And starting August 1st, I'm hosting a "Christmas in August" Every Day Card Challenge (EDCC)! Woohoo! Looks like I'm gonna have my Christmas cards completed early this year. Yay! Last year, I was still making cards on Christmas Eve! lol I'm hosting this EDCC over at Scrappin-n-Chattin, I hope you'll join us!

I'll be back later this week with some layouts to share.. see you then! :)

Cards 11 & 12

Just a few days left! Woot!

I had quite a busy day yesterday so I made card 11 in a rush, it's clean and simple. The challenge was to use green and purple and to also follow this sketch.

Here's my take..
Day 12 challenge was to use a swap item, but I passed on that and made this "hi" card instead. I used papers from DCWV "Linen Closet". It's a BEAUTIFUL collection of light blues, teals, taupes. I really really like it!

Card 8

Today's challenge was to cut out and use an image from patterned paper. I thought this birdie paper from DCWV's Green Stack was perfect. I've had this pad for a while and used very little of it. I'd forgotten how cute it is, I should use it more often. TFL! :)

Party & more cards!

My nephew, Drake, turned 1 y/o on March 8. His 1st birthday party was super great! We all had such a fun day! Here are a few photos...

Here are the birthday boy's parents -- my sister, Jessica and BIL, Nate...Awwwww...My lil guy, Braydon, was the party entertainment lol...Here are Jessica, me (in red), and our other sister Sarah (holding the little booger who is not cooperating with the camera)....There is another sister, Jodi (she's the oldest) but she lives in Pittsburgh now and couldn't make the trip. It feels really weird to have a sister photo without her in it :(

And Drake again... He's just so precious.. I love him sumthin crazy! I'm such a proud Auntie.

Okay! Onto the cards.. I'm still kickin it in this challenge! Woot! 8 days down, 23 to go! lol Here are the latest...

Day 6 - Using Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg..Day 7 - Using Pink Paislee's Cupid...Day 8 - And here I used DCWV Mod-Retro..
TFL!!

You'll shoot your eye out, kid!

So today, I finally made a layout after many weeks of chaos in my home. It felt good to relax and create. I followed Julie's #45 sketch on the "52 Sketches" site. It also meets the theme of mixed fonts in the Scrappin-n-Chattin November challenge. I used DCWV Rustic Stack and some cowboy die-cuts that I've had sitting in my drawers for many years. I'm glad I finally got to use them! TFL!

Layouts

Just sharing some new layouts I've done recently...

This is my son, Braydon, Halloween 2006.

Braydon at the Logan County Fair, Summer 2006. This was made to follow Julie's sketch at 52sketches52weeks.

This double pager was entered in the Monthly Layout Contest on Scrappin-n-Chattin.. and I won! :) It's Braydon at his favorite local restaurant.

Another layout for 52 sketches. This is me in early 2008.

Braydon at a park in Decatur, IL. Love this froggy patterned paper!

This layout was made for the Sketch Challenge at Scrappin-n-Chattin. You can't see very well in the photo- but Braydon is holding a butterfly he raised from a larva, last year Summer 2008.

Braydon at a park in Lincoln. I love the Basic Grey "Mellow" collection!
