Layouts with Boys Rule

I have a couple layouts to share with you today :)

As soon as I saw Bo Bunny's "On the Go" collection, I knew it was a must have.. and I was so excited to receive it as part of May's scrapbooking kit at Boys Rule. This kit is so colorful and fun, perfect for any little boy.. big boys, too! Here is a layout I created using these great papers and embellies..

This was so fun to make.. it features my toddler nephew who is "always on the go"! At first, I wanted to title this page 'always on green' lol but I didn't have enough room. Oh well, I think it turned out just great anyway :) I also created a video if you'd like to see how this page came together - you can find it here.

Also, I noticed recently that I forgot to add this next layout to my blog last month. It was created with the Boys Rule April kit using the Simple Stories "Awesome" collection and the April 13th sketch.

This is my son and nephew at one of our local state parks. There's an old house near the park with the windows and doors boarded and it just seemed to me like a house from "the hood" lol so this title came to me quickly ;) This page is also on video here if you'd like to check it out :)

Thanks for visiting me today!

Boys Rule kit projects :)

Wow, it's been a while since I posted. Well that will change soon, I have several projects to share in the next week or two :)

Today I'd like to share a couple projects with you that I created with the Boys Rule April kit. First up is my take on the April 27th sketch challenge.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Abby!? Are you blind? That doesn't look like the sketch!" lol Well I promise you that it actually started out mostly following the sketch. But throughout the creative process, it kinda took on a life of it's own lol. I rotated the photo, instead of big round matting circles I used sprockets, the title was lowered and the journaling strips we raised. I had hoped the end result would still look similar to the sketch, it does a lil bit.. in a few places lol. Anyway! I love how this page turned out and my son is such a cutie-patootie in this photo.. if I do say so lol. You can view my YouTube video here on how it all came together. I have other Boys Rule video projects on my channel also, if you'd like to browse.

Next up is this picture frame I created for my son's photos.

I bought a cheap collage photo frame at Dollar Tree, you can find so many crafty bargains there! I covered the frame with SS "Awesome" paper, sanded and distressed it, added a few other papers in the smaller frames, adhered a bunch of embellies and tucked in my son's photos. And wahla! Nice inexpensive project! This frame looks awesome on my bookcase, btw. :)

That's all from me this month with the April kit.. I am sooooo looking forward to creating with the May kit! I hope you were able to purchase a May kit for yourself! :)

Have a great Monday! :)

Boys Rule projects :)

Today I'm sharing a few projects I made using the March and new April Boys Rule kits :) The projects were posted at the Boys Rule blog, but I forgot to post them here as well - bad Abby! lol Better late than never, I say :)

My first project is the current sketch challenge at Boys Rule.. it's a great sketch! You still have time to enter so I hope you'll play along with us!

This is my nephew, cruising along on his lil Harley. I kinda went circle crazy with this layout but I really love all the color I was able to jam in there - love color! I used the Echo Park "A Boy's Life" collection which was included in the March kit. Also created with the same kit is this fun inspirational card..

I love to toot my son's horn whenever I can lol - He was chosen for the honor roll again this quarter so I made this for him. The prior few years he had been struggling in school (3rd-5th grades), but now he's in 6th and he's doing sooo much better! All As and Bs.. I'm sooo proud of him! This card includes patterned paper, cardstock stickers and some doodling.. easy peasy!

Those projects above were made with the March kit which is now sold out.. but the April kit is now available for purchase. Laura Lee had some unexpected delays in collecting all the items for the April kit, so our DT boxes were not complete... yet. Right now I just have the papers, some stickers and a few embellies.. but the rest will be here really soon! Woot! I am already loving this April kit.. it's Awesome! And I mean that literally lol It includes papers and embellishments from the Simple Stories "Awesome" collection. Gorgeous!! Here are a few items you can expect in this great April kit...

Loooooove love love!!! But there's so much more that will be added to it.. I can't wait to show you the complete kit.

With the items I have so far, I created this photo frame for my son.

All items I used are in the kit except for the twine. And I don't have the sprockets in my kit yet, so I made my own with my Spellbinder's dies. I love this photo of Braydon, he was only 11 y/o here, but he looks so grown up.

There's going to be some "Awesome" projects created and shared with this kit this month at Boys Rule!! Be sure to visit and be inspired :) I'll be back later this week with the next Boys Rule sketch challenge.. fun!

Have a great week!
