Imaginisce Tool Extravaganza!

June has been a Tool Extravaganza all month long. On the Imaginisce blog, we've shared projects using the great Imaginisce tools and gadgets :)

For my projects, I chose to use the i-bond..

As soon as I received the i-bond, I was in love. Not only is it super comfortable in my hand, but also cordless. Yes, please!

I made a votive and used the i-bond to create a swirly design. I found a drinking glass at a rummage sale for 10 cents, then used my i-rock template and a marker to stencil the design on the glass. I then followed the dots with my i-bond.

After the glue cooled, I spray painted the entire glass. You could surely add ribbons and such if you prefer, but I chose to go clean and simple. I've tested my candle for a couple hours and the glue will not melt as the candle is burning. Score! :)
Supplies- Imaginisce: i-bond, i-bond glue sticks, i-rock stencil kit. Other- Spray paint, glass, marker.

I also made a fun headband created with globs of glue! I used the i-bond and Imaginisce glitter glue sticks (love those!) to make round shapes onto wax paper. They almost look like little gems or stones. So sparkly!

Then I used the i-bond to adhere them onto an Imaginisce i-top headband. I love how this turned out! It's simple to create, yet super cute!

Supplies- Imaginisce: i-bond, i-bond glitter glue sticks, i-top twist headband. Other- waxed paper

Friends Furever Blog Hop! :)

Good morning!
Welcome to the "Friends Furever" blog hop :)

If you are coming from Sue's blog, you are in the right spot! If you are just stopping by my blog today, you'll want to go to Suzanne's blog to start from the beginning.. or here is this hop order in case you get lost.
Suzanne - Scrap With Suzy
Abby - Midwest Memories - You're here!

You don't want to miss the "furry" projects we have for you, as well as chances to win some awesome blog candy!

There are 7 of us participating in the hop; we are all online scrapbooking friends from the Yahoo group Scrappin N Chattin. SnC is an email forum where we share our love for this hobby, as well as everyday life. Don't be intimidated by the amount of emails that come through our message boards - there are a lot of fun activities, challenges, and prizes - to jumpstart your creativity and keep your scrappin' goals.

I host 2 activities at SnC.. The Monthly Layout Contest (MLC) and the SC'12 Layouts and Cards (which Sue just told you about!). The MLC, like all the other activities, is a lot of fun. I provide our group with a layout sketch to draw inspiration from and also I provide a recipe to follow. The recipe usually consists of adding a color, technique, pattern, and/or embellishment. It's really cool to see how everyone uses the same sketch/recipe but yet has such different and unique layouts :)

Fun right? You can visit our SnC homepage here and join in if you'd like. We love meeting new people!  We also love blog hopping and sharing inspiration we find around the web! For today's hop, we each created a "furry" project.

I have 2 pets :)
A 6 y/o calico cat, Logan (who we call Logie) and a 3 y/o beagle/basset hound, Cooper. For my hop project, I created this layout featuring Logan and used my 3 Bugs in a Rug "Frisky" Caboodle kit.

Not sure if you can see it or not.. but the white cardstock has "k-i-t-t-y" letters added :)

I love this "Frisky" paper collection! So fun and colorful :)

Also, here are a couple layouts I created in the past that feature my Cooper..

It wouldn't be a blog hop without CANDY! ;)
I'm giving away a 3 Bugs in a Rug "Frisky" Caboodle kit.. the same kit I used for my Logan layout :)

Just become a follower and comment for your chance to win :) You do not have to join SNC to qualify. Just follow and comment, that's all :) Blog candy winners will be announced Thursday.

I'm the last stop in the hop :)
Hope you enjoyed all the furry projects, blog candy and hopping along to learn about SnC :)
Hope you'll join us at SnC!

Imaginisce - Magni-top Jewelry week! :)

This week at Imaginisce, the Design Team is sharing gorgeous jewelry pieces they've made using the Imaginisce Magni-top jewelry collection which can be used paired with the ever popular I-top. I am in total awe of the pieces the gals have made! Please do visit Imaginisce this week and check them out.. plus, you could win a jewelry collection for yourself just by leaving a comment. What a spectacular week at Imaginisce! :)

For my jewelry project, I made a nautical necklace using Imaginisce Bon Voyage papers.

I used a thin dowel rod to roll up small paper scraps, then used those as spacers between the compass and anchor magnet daddy pendants. I'm a big fan of anything nautical so I made this necklace initially for me but.. my son LOVES it and wants it for himself lol. I would have never guessed Magni-top accessories could be for guys, too! Awesome!

Imaginisce - Teacher Appreciation :)

It's Teacher Appreciation Week at Imaginisce so we're sharing projects we created for our wonderful teachers. I work for our school district and every day I see the tremendous effort and patience being a teacher requires. They really do need our appreciation and thanks as often as possible.

I decided to create this note card set for a teacher friend. A sweet little box with four adorable cards inside and the box is reusable, too! :)

The card design is simple, but the bright colors and patterned papers are really what makes these so cute! I really love this Imaginisce "Geek is Chic" collection... definitely one of my top faves :)

I hope you'll visit Imaginisce during our Teacher Apprectiation Week. There are so many super cute projects to be shared. Plus, there's something really big and special coming up for Facebook Imaginisce! Be sure to like their Facebook page and don't miss out on all the fun! :)

Thanks for visiting!

Imaginisce - Hello Cupcake!

Hello Cupcake is the newest Imaginisce collection and this week there's a release party at the Imaginisce blog. :) The design team has created some gorgeous projects! Please do take some time to visit, you're sure to be inspired. :)

I loved playing with Hello Cupcake. You all know that I love color and this line is full of it! Perfect for any birthday or celebration project :)

This layout features my nephew, Drake during his 1st birthday. This poor baby had no clue what the big party fuss was all about and we could rarely get a smile from him. Such a cute baby :)

I also created this gift box and card set pairing up Hello Cupcake with kraft cardstock. I love the bright colors next to the natural kraft :)

Layouts with Boys Rule

I have a couple layouts to share with you today :)

As soon as I saw Bo Bunny's "On the Go" collection, I knew it was a must have.. and I was so excited to receive it as part of May's scrapbooking kit at Boys Rule. This kit is so colorful and fun, perfect for any little boy.. big boys, too! Here is a layout I created using these great papers and embellies..

This was so fun to make.. it features my toddler nephew who is "always on the go"! At first, I wanted to title this page 'always on green' lol but I didn't have enough room. Oh well, I think it turned out just great anyway :) I also created a video if you'd like to see how this page came together - you can find it here.

Also, I noticed recently that I forgot to add this next layout to my blog last month. It was created with the Boys Rule April kit using the Simple Stories "Awesome" collection and the April 13th sketch.

This is my son and nephew at one of our local state parks. There's an old house near the park with the windows and doors boarded and it just seemed to me like a house from "the hood" lol so this title came to me quickly ;) This page is also on video here if you'd like to check it out :)

Thanks for visiting me today!

Imaginisce & Canvas Corp Blog Hop - decorative pillow

This week Canvas Corp is teaming up with Imaginisce for a blog hop - fun fun fun!! The projects created by the design teams are so beautiful and so creative, you'll love them! And you'll also love the hop prizes.. huge collections of goodies to win at both blogs! Don't miss out on your chance :) See the Imaginisce blog for all the details :)

For my project using Imaginisce and Canvas Corp, I created this decorative pillow..

Supplies used: Imaginisce (i-top 2.0 tool, i-top punch, petal roller, Fabric Roly Rosies, iron bling motif, i-rock mini iron); Canvas Corp (canvas pages, canvas minis, canvas flower, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists); Misc: Floss, thread, red jewels

When I noticed that the Canvas Corp 12x12 fabricpage was actually 2 big pieces of canvas sewn together, I knew right away that I wanted to make a pillow :) I added pillow fluff inside the two layers, then I added that gorgeous canvas flower. The center of the flower is an extra large brad daddy and piece of glimmer misted canvas put together using my i-top. I also added Imaginisce fabric roly rosies, iron-on bling, and canvas leaves also spritzed with glimmer mist.

This pillow pairs up so nicely with my red lap blanket and it really makes a nice addition to my livingroom. :)

Check out Imaginisce and Canvas Corp everyday this week for beautiful inspirational projects and also for your chance to win awesome prizes! Don't miss it :)

May Flowers! TPV

 Happy May!!

There's a new challenge at The Paper Variety ! :)

I love finding new ways to make paper flowers! For my project, I created this bouquet of blooms using Echo Park "Dots & Stripes" 6x6 pads.

These flowers were really fun to make. All it took was some simple folding and then I glued the pieces together. I think they're super cute! :)

TPV has a great prize for the randomly chosen winner...
For joining the challenge, you could win...

I hope you'll find some time to join us!

Have a great day!

Boys Rule kit projects :)

Wow, it's been a while since I posted. Well that will change soon, I have several projects to share in the next week or two :)

Today I'd like to share a couple projects with you that I created with the Boys Rule April kit. First up is my take on the April 27th sketch challenge.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Abby!? Are you blind? That doesn't look like the sketch!" lol Well I promise you that it actually started out mostly following the sketch. But throughout the creative process, it kinda took on a life of it's own lol. I rotated the photo, instead of big round matting circles I used sprockets, the title was lowered and the journaling strips we raised. I had hoped the end result would still look similar to the sketch, it does a lil bit.. in a few places lol. Anyway! I love how this page turned out and my son is such a cutie-patootie in this photo.. if I do say so lol. You can view my YouTube video here on how it all came together. I have other Boys Rule video projects on my channel also, if you'd like to browse.

Next up is this picture frame I created for my son's photos.

I bought a cheap collage photo frame at Dollar Tree, you can find so many crafty bargains there! I covered the frame with SS "Awesome" paper, sanded and distressed it, added a few other papers in the smaller frames, adhered a bunch of embellies and tucked in my son's photos. And wahla! Nice inexpensive project! This frame looks awesome on my bookcase, btw. :)

That's all from me this month with the April kit.. I am sooooo looking forward to creating with the May kit! I hope you were able to purchase a May kit for yourself! :)

Have a great Monday! :)

Here is the hop order for today :)
Abby Laubenstein (You are here)

For my project to share, I created this bright and colorful headband which includes several colors of The Twinery twine and also Imaginisce "Making Waves".

I cut out the hibiscus flower bunch from Makin Waves paper, gave it a few areas of dimension and placed the bunch atop the large zigzag orange base flower (also cut from Makin Waves). I surrounded the flowers with sprays of colorful twine - making this piece burst with color! It will surely be a fun addition to any girl's spring or summer dress :)

Both Imaginisce and The Twinery
